I love my Hayes wire wheels. I have two vehicles with them and sold another some 25 years ago. If they have a weakness it is in the rear hubs. The majority of these I have found and fixed had flogged out key ways. One even had a second keyway flogged out! I have developed a fix for this if anyone is interested.

Helllo,I would. Be curious to find out. If any body out there would know where a person could find a pair of rear 30by3.5 demountable wire wheels because I have decent pair of fronts and no rears and have been looking for a long time, thank you Robert Flesner ,1919tt

Rear wire wheels are scarcer than fronts. Fronts often ended up under trailers, and turn up there. I once had a toilet stop for my wife on a T tour, and spotted a pair over a nearby fence. Since then i have never been able to deny a toilet stop!
Rear Hayes wheels are problematical. Apart from fewer ending up being repurposed because you need to fit the whole rear axle, the wheels themselves often come with badly worn hubs and keyways. They are repairable but at considerable cost in time and new spokes.
