SOLD 4 Disteel wheel hubs, 4 hub rings, 4 hubcaps

Post by dobro1956 » Mon Feb 10, 2025 2:00 pm

I have for sale a pair of front Disteel front hubs and a pair of Disteel rear hubs with rings and hubcaps. The front hubs are in good shape and other than a good cleanup are useable as-is. The wheel bearing races look good, and I would use them, but I'll leave that up to the buyer. The races are tight in the hubs. The two rear hubs have a few issues. The caramel colored one looks good and has a useable-looking taper and keyway but 2 of the stud bolts have a lot of rusting to the shank of the bolt. That is common on Disteel hubs as the lug nuts tend to hold moisture. The black hub has decent looking stud bolts but has a very rough taper. It was on my car when I got it and it ran OK, but I replaced it several years ago. I was going to try and press out two of the black hubs stud bolts to change out the two studs in the caramel-colored hub. (I have never done that and do not know how hard it will be to do) Then I was going to use the black hub to make a spare tire carrier for my spare. I found an original Disteel spare tire carrier (scarce as hen's teeth) and never got around to using the black hub to make one.
Im also including 5 "Red Dot" hubcaps. It has been discussed on the forum that the "red dot" hubcaps may be what was used as hubcaps by Disteel for the 3 lug wheels. The four lug Disteel wheels had a hubcap marked Disteel, the 4 lug wheels were for the larger makes of autos. So, these "red dot" hubcaps are probably as close to original as can be found. I chased and cleaned the hubcap threads with a Stevens hub cap thread chaser. All of the hubcaps now run smoothly by hand all the way down to the flange. The hubcaps are in good shape with some minor dings and light shelf worn scratches. Whoever gets these needs to take extreme care to not cross thread them when putting them on. and the threads must be kept almost surgically clean and lightly oiled. Aluminum hubcaps are the easiest to cross thread or gaul the threads if even slightly dirty. Stock Model T hubcaps will fit the Disteel hubs.
It is almost impossible to find a useable hub with ring for less than 275.00 for the pair anymore. I will take 550.00 for all parts plus shipping. So I am selling you the 2 front hubs and basically throwing in the other two hubs and rings and hubcaps. The rings alone will cost about 50.00 to 75.00 dollars each, if you can find them. I do not even know what a matched set of "red dot" hub caps cost now. I bought these to have as spares for my speedster. I no longer need them so it's time to let them go to the next project or caretaker.

Shipping to be actual cost. Both front hubs will fit in a medium flat rate box for 19.30. The two rear hubs need their own medium flat rate box at 19.30 each. So, shipping in the continental US will be 57.90 for all the parts. I will ship international at actual cost.

I acept pay pal, money order, or personal check in the US. International payment to be pay pal.
