WTB KRW rod alignment piece

Post by JSteele » Sat Mar 08, 2025 11:03 am

I am looking for what would be called a Sea Lion with other style Rod Alignment Jigs. What I need is the star shaped piece (on the right side of the ad) that goes against the jig face when checking for bend or twist. Please respond by email through the forum or for06 five3nine 6oofor. I will be going to Duncan.

Dan, Thank you, but what John has are actual sea lions. I'm looking for the other style pictured above that is kind of star shaped. John actually was kind enough to send me that picture as I wasn't sure what I needed, except that it was not the standard sea lions.
Thank you for trying to steer me toward one.
John

John, I checked my 1926 K R Wilson catalog and that piece is called " four point indicator" by KR Wilson. I also remember seeing it called a "spider" somewhere, but do not remember where. Check with Steve Lang, they have a lot of KR Wilson and Stevens pieces and parts. They may have one. They usually sell the extra parts and pieces. That will be a hard part to find. I have only seen a couple of them, compared to seeing dozens of sea lions. Good luck, I'll be looking for one for you at Duncan. If you do not already have it, I think Langs still sells the repro 1926 KR Wilson catalog. It shows that tool and how to use it.

Hi Donnie,
Thank you. I will try and get a hold of Steve. I believe I have a copy of that catalog somewhere now that you brought that up.
Thank you, see in about a week and a half.
John
