Want to buy, T era camping gear and 4 wheel drive unit

Post by dobro1956 » Sun Mar 09, 2025 11:54 pm

I'm looking to buy any T era camping gear, info, books, magazines, sales literature, photos, post cards, early Tin Can Tourist items, cooking related things. Just about anything Auto Camping, Motor Tourist related.
Two items I'm currently looking for are a 1920s Coleman Lantern ( restored or fixer upper) and a folding wood table big enough for two to sit at and eat dinner or breakfast. The table could be combo of wood and steel. I'll be at the Duncan Oklahoma swap meet, so let me know what you may have and could bring with you. I also need a pair of binoculars and a compass from the era.

Then I'm also still wanting to find a four wheel drive assembly. It can be a project, complete unit, or a complete vehicle.

Thanks ...

Spoiler Alert! Stay tuned as starting this winter, the all new improved C.L.S. 4 X 4 conversion is coming! No aux transmission required, front mechanical brakes, easy select in or out shifter, made from period correct components, etc. Will be like nothing you have ever seen!

Starting to get my motorcamp stuff together as well. We found a kampkold cooler, coleman quicklite and prentiss waber stove on ebay. I have a fair bit invested in them and will need to rebuild/replace the mica shade but hopefully should have them functional by summer. For our table I am doing something that may interest you. . .
I built the table top so it folds together and lays on the runningboard. The "legs" consist of steel rods that have a loop at the end these are driven into the ground and 2 more rods with a bend go thru (horizontal). The table top is then opened up and set on the horizontal. This gives a fairly sturdy table taking very little space that can be leveled on uneven ground depending how deep you drive the individual rods. This setup gives a slightly narrow table that 4-6 can sit at or a stove at one end ect.

Donnie,
is the typical table that you see too small for you? I am just wondering if you are looking for one of those larger tables that are so so very rare or just a regular on which is something like 3x3

Linus, a smaller folding table will work. I have limited space in a Model T. 3x3 should work. I'm just wanting something period correct that folds up. I have a folding card table style that is probably late 30s art deco style that works good. But it's hard to haul because it's big and only the legs fold up.
