I'll take it.
Do you have the bolts for it?

Re: spare tire clamp
There are no bolts.
The big hole goes over the existing carrier stud.
The upper hole & notch are for a padlock.

Re: spare tire clamp
Mine has no stud, just a square hole, about 7/16".

Re: spare tire clamp
There should be a demount able sized fine thread stud swedged from behind.
You'll need to make & secure that stud.

Re: spare tire clamp
My thought was to fabricate one out of a lug bolt.

Re: spare tire clamp
That can work. Might want to weld/braze into position.

Re: spare tire clamp
Once it is in place. Held by the nut it won't fall out. No need to braze.

Until you remove the spare rim.Jack Putnam, in Ohio wrote: ↑Wed Aug 13, 2025 4:36 pmOnce it is in place. Held by the nut it won't fall out. No need to braze.
Quiescently, I saw a nos replacement carrier base mount last night.
The stud is a fine threaded carriage bolt.
The outer edges of the square of the carriage bolt are chiseled down to lock the square under the bolt head in place.
