For Sale: A very popular accessory, the Stadco “Life Saver” Traffic Light Accessory. This mounts in the back window of the vehicle. When the vehicle starts the green light comes on. When the vehicle slows down, the yellow light comes on and the green light goes out. Then, when the brake pedal is pushed, the red light comes on and the yellow and green are out.

This stop light was mounted to a piece of trim by a prior owner and does not have the original mounting bracket.

This accessory works best on 12 volts. The center lamp (yellow position) was a bit dim when I tested it, but I found the prior owner had used a different bulb in that socket, so I cleaned up the contacts for that bulb and it seems to be better.

I have instructions that show how to wire this lamp up. Originally I did not get instructions with it. I also tested the lamp and wrote up some simpler instructions for reference.

Please note that the green and yellow wires are wired to a progressive switch attached to the accelerator or throttle linkage, plus the red wire needs to go to the brake light switch. I did not get any switches with this accessory when I purchased it. However, your vehicle may already have these components or they may be found on the internet.

I was going to keep this accessory for myself, but have changed my mind. I have a Model A and it is a 6 Volt system, plus I already have an LED third brake light mounted in the car, so this accessory will just be confusing if I mount it. I also intended to take this to our club swap meet so I built a stand for it to display it better. If the buyer wants the stand that is fine with me.
