Hershey 2025

Post by Model-T-Medic » Fri Sep 19, 2025 5:24 pm

Good afternoon all,
It is a beautiful and hot day in Columbus, Ohio but my thoughts are on the unknown weather and climate of Hershey this year. My name is Chris Mize and I am a model t starter and generator rebuilder. This year my father, Brent Mize, and I will accompanied by Jeff Stevenson of ModelTStarters.com at the Hershey space GBH 17-18. We are going to be bringing starters, generators, voltage regulators, bendixes and pretty much everything you should need to start and charge your car. Dad would usually be bringing coils as well, and I’m sure he may have a few, but points have been relatively impossible to come by lately. With all of that said, I’m asking for those who are coming to please bring any starter cores that you’re willing to part with, I’m interested in purchasing or bartering. I typically pay $25-40 a core depending on condition, or if you’d be interested in trading for a rebuilt unit, please email me at cmize1025@gmail.com. If anyone has any bendixes they are willing to sell or if they are needing a rebuild, I’m interested in those as well.

Thank you for your time and I hope to see you all in Hershey.
Chris

How much do you charge for a rebuilt starter?also for a generator ? Are the generators pre adjusted and just plug and play ??

Currently the price for a best quality rebuilt starter is $325. Jeff Stevenson has done a great job of reproducing great quality parts that are also more reasonably priced than their predecessors. For that price, you get brand new field coils, rebuilt brush plate with new brushes, rebabbited front drive plate, tested and straightened armature, and a new cap end bearing. A 12v converted starter is an additional $50 due to the extra labor. We are still working on driving the price of the rebuilt generator down but we have some work yet to do. The current price is $460 for a generator. That comes with rewound armature which amounts to the majority of the cost. All units are ready to bolt on as soon as you get them and have been adjusted and tested. All generators are set to 6-7 amp output for optimal charging on your car. My business name is the Model T Medic. I have been in business for just over a year and a half but had apprenticed under my dad, the Coil Doctor, and I rebuild the best quality units for Lang’s.

Thank you,
Chris
