WTB: Instruction sheet or advertisement

Post by jaybee47 » Tue Mar 03, 2026 6:16 pm

Out of curiosity, I bought this thing from Lang's. I would like to buy a copy of an instruction sheet, advertisement or other helpful information as to how it is installed and its operation. Many thanks.

Looks like part of a hydraulic ram water pump. Depending on size could have been part of the water pumping system on a firetruck. Don't know just making a guess.
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!

I did an image search. The eBay one looks closest, the other two have a relief outlet on the top

Its an early alarm. There are contacts inside that come together and make contact if the car is shaken or moved. Shake it back and forth or side to side and you should feel it moving inside.
Its basically a big switch.

Thanks Dodge. I like odd ball stuff and had to have it but did not need it..lol lol. Langs did state that it was an anti-theft device. But I wanted to know how it is installed. A period advertisement would also be a complement. Via a continuity check...when the thing is horizontal, the interior switch is open; when the thing is vertical, the switch is closed. So I'm assuming it would be horizontally mounted somewhere on the T body or firewall?? Perhaps it would activate the horn (if it was wired accordingly as such) when the T traveled uphill or downhill or over bumpy roads?? What do you think?

It is installed standing straight up. The switch is like a horn button power to the horn and ground thru this switch. The terminal on the lower end of it is the ground wire the body of the switch is grounded to the car. The upper screw and nut are for adjustment.
There was probably a shut off switch for driving down the road and turned on when parked.
