I have a 1917 non generator engine and wonder if a Fordson cross drive mag system will work? This speedster I'm doing will not have hood side panels when finished. Enquiring minds want to know????

For whatever it is worth? I had one of those Fordson mag drives a long time ago. The drive gear with it seemed to fit the T's camshaft and line up okay with the mag drive. I was considering using it on a speedster I had at the time, but found a proper mag drive for it instead. I considered keeping it for a future project, but someone at a swap meet decided he wanted it more than I did. The buyer claimed to know it would work on a T with little more than adapting some brackets to support the mag drive.
I saw one once on a car at an Endurance Run. It stuck out the side a bit, but looked pretty neat.
