I was wondering if anyone has tried to disassemble one of these lights to rewire it. I think that the piece that goes through the windshield has to be opened but didn’t want to proceed until I asked for advice.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Circlite repair
Ray you might be able to pull in another wire by using the existing one or fish some .030 mig wire thru and pull the new in from the bulb side. I have done this on some similar with good results.
Hope this Helps,
Hank

Re: Circlite repair
Thank you for the suggestion Hank. It appears that one wire attaches to the switch just above the wire and then on to the bulb. The other wire is connected to ground somewhere inside. So I’m forced to open it.
I was able to slide the round section toward the bulb with a fair bit of force to reveal that one side of the casting is two pieces. I think after grinding and pressing out the rusty pin between the switch and hinge I’ll be able to separate the halves. I’ll post pictures as I go in case anyone runs into this again.
