Service Manual Trivia

Post by Humblej » Tue Apr 28, 2020 8:14 pm

I have an original hard copy Ford Service Manual dated 1925 and just acquired one dated 1926. The 1926 version has 4 more pages than the 1925 version. Both versions otherwise look identical, anyone know what the extra 4 pages of material is?

Don't know about only 4 pages as that 1926 rev. should have an additional chapter too .....Chapter XLII Servicing the Improved Car

My copy is dated 1925 and has chapter XLII Servicing the Improved Car, pages 262-288, so without the 26 book don't know what the extra pages are.
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!

My 1925 manual has XLII, servicing the improved car. My 1926 has XLII, battery care. Servicing the improved car is XXXI in the 1926 version.

The modern paperback repro manual is the same as my hard cover 1925 manual. The 4 extra pages in the 1926 version may not be so simple to account for.

I have a paperback reprint Ford service manual that has the last XLII chapter for the improved car. Had it about 20 years. The last page in the improved car section is a non-starter wiring diagram. Kind of ironic I guess since it’s for an improved car. Interesting.
