Well he hauls scrap metal in it and
makes trips to the dump but that
donโt count as getting paid to
work on it for a paycheck

Due to Kim Dobbins messing up his leg, and not being able to attend Chickasha, Eric volunteered to haul my new 1913 firewall and running board back to California for me. He is even going to transport them for me to Tulare in May.
I got to know Eric on a recent tour in Glen Ellen. He is a true Model T guy, even with that Overland he had for sale at Chickasha!

Erik hauled a big vendor tent - table - chairs
for The EFV-8 Foundation Museum
along with parts that KD bought at Chickasha.

For those who haven't heard about the time Erik took his TT on a dump run; he stopped to buy some gas, and as I recall the story, someone at the station asked him, "Where are you taking THAT?"
Erik replied, "To the Dump."
"Oh, how are you getting home?"
T'ake care,
David Dewey

True story. I usually stop by the gas station on the way home. On this trip I stopped on the way there. This redneck looking guy walked around the truck and finally asked me what I was doing. โGoing to the dumpโ I said. โWhoโs giving you a ride home?โ There was no recovery from that.

Happy retirement Erik!! Well deserved. I'm right behind you. We just bought a 10AC farm in Wilder ID, and accepted an offer on our place here in Santa Rosa last night. We'll be there mid May! Goodbye CA!
Moving my shop will be challenging....

Sounds like great news Jeff, I went one year ago, loving it but the money could be better.

Last Day Today
It used to be - a couple generations ago - you gave
your working life to an employer right out of high school and retired with a decent pension ...
It seems today that is the exception to the rule.
