I am installing a turn signal switch assembly and I have the lever adapter. The inside curvature of the adapter doesn't conform to my steering column. It's off by a lot and there is a gap between the adapter and the column. I was thinking of planing or grinding it to fit but there must be a more elegant way to make it fit. I don't want to just squeeze it down and hope it doesn't damage the column. Has anyone had experience with these?

Re: Turn signal lever adapter fit
If you don’t want to modify the block you have tale a piece of hardwood and make one that will fit. It may take a little time to make but it will work and made to look nice. At least it would be a good prototype you can use as a guide to modify the metal one that came with the kit.
You could probably pick up a round piece of wood at a lumber yard or some type of wood off of an old bedstead or backboard.

My car came to me with turn signals installed, but the housing on mine is different than yours. My housing has a curved shape built in to the bottom and uses a strap to finish the attachment to the column.

it always helps to include a picture of the problem (your steering column with the adapter).
The past is a great place and I don't want to erase it or to regret it, but I don't want to be its prisoner either.

I have the adapter in Mark G`s post. Its made of a hard plastic. I'll get a photo tomorrow.
Edit, It's "tomorrow". Here is a photo.
