CoilBox and Firewall Stain

I remember reading a thread several months ago about the stain(s) that were used on the wooden coilboxes and on the firewalls.

I'm almost at the point of needing to buy stain, but can't seem to find the thread!

Can anyone suggest to me what stain to get, and in what color?
