Gas line question 1912

Post by RGould1910 » Thu Mar 03, 2022 7:53 pm

I am getting my 1912 roadster ready to paint. The drivers splash apron does not have a hole for the gas line. Unless I am mistaken, I believe it should. If I am correct, can anyone tell me the size and location if the hole?

I would just like to add my two cents worth regarding the punched hole for the gas tubing.
Ken is correct in the location of the hole.
I have been fortunate to have seen a few known to be original and correct splash aprons and the punched hole has had a ridge or ring on the underside of the apron; the hole is not flush as it would be if drilled or stamped. I didn't measure (nothing in my pocket) the height of the ridge or flange, but it probably wasn't much more than 1/8 or at the most 3/16 of an inch.

The past is a great place and I don't want to erase it or to regret it, but I don't want to be its prisoner either.
