Here is What They Look Like Now

Post by BLB27 » Sat Apr 02, 2022 8:17 pm

Here is what the fenders for my 1927 coupe look like after blast cleaning with crushed glass, sanded with 220 grit, prime coat, sealer, and three layers of top coat.

Great! I don’t see them, but I assume you did the splash shields and radiator apron in black as well. Are you going to do the body in green or another color? Jim Patrick

Jim, The splash shields, radiator apron, and head lights are next. I brush painted the underside of the fenders, splash shields, and running boards with a Rust-Oleum primer and gloss top coat. I then gave them to a
professional, who is located only a mile from my son's garage. How lucky can I be!

The body will be marron. A club member has furnished me a formula for the marron on his car. It is a jaguar limousine marron. I will get a sample of it to see if that is the marron I want. I plan to use marron on the inside and the underneath of the body. The wire wheels will be straw.

What brand, type, etc of paint was used. The paint looks beautiful. I wish I could paint like that.

Bruce, I had a chuckle when I read your post. Marron to us Aussies are freshwater crayfish. Big ones are blue. Most are dark brown. All are quite tasty.
:D :D I presume you mis-typed maroon.
Maroon and black are a very nice combination.
