Repairing a brass mirror

Post by RGould1910 » Thu Jul 07, 2022 10:44 am

These mirrors often break or come loose where the post is soldered from the inside to the brass sheet. I repaired a loose post by running a bead of epoxy around the base. The first coat penetrated the crack and the second added strength. The epoxy appears as a dark ring at the base of the post.
I used the thicker epoxy and appied it with a bulb syringe like you use for nose drops.
