I just bought a TT that is a blank canvas as far as a cab, seat position truck bed etc. I have a farm on LI dating back to 1751 and run a couple of pre 53 ford tractors on it. We primarily are an agritourism Farm (yesterday 1300 people showed up for egg hunts). We produce our own food, only raising strawberries and pumpkins for sale. Www.bennersfarm.com.
I’ve looked at lots of pictures of TT’s and am encouraged that they can be almost anything, hay wagon, flat bed, etc. some have cabs, a few don’t. I don’t know what configuration my truck will eventually be.
I do know that I would like more legroom as I am over six feet tall and have passed by other t’s Because of the cramped cabs.
Have any of you had the same problem and how did you solve it?
Can one change the placement of the gas tank and therefore add legroom? Are there any threads about this subject?

Since your TT is "an open canvas for the cab", you aren't confined to the dimensions of a stock cab. If you go with a wide open cab, you can move the seat back to where you are comfortable in it & that might be your best option. Stock cabs are pretty tight, especially for those with a generous gut. You could also use a "fatman" steering wheel. That'll help you get in & out easier.

Bob, you should be free to build whatever seat configuration you find comfortable. The gas tank could be moved back, but you'll lose payload area, and drilling more holes in the frame isn't the best solution. Experiment with seat design, perhaps you can gain adequate leg room by raising the seat high enough to accommodate your height. And, congratulations on operating an historic farm !! A TT should be an attractive and useful addition !!
