ANOTHER Scammer Alert: "britishedx" A.K.A. "MEY via meyersxx@outlook.com"

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS PERSON: memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=5222

They responded to a classified I posted about some hood panels I'm looking for. Exact same wording response as the scammer that screwed me out of money for some seat springs a few months ago.

I really wish MTFCA would block their IP address.

Just a 20 year old who listens to 40 year old music, works on 75 year old airplanes and drives 100 year old cars.

It is a game of wack a mole with these scammers.
block 1 IP, they just get 5 more and go at it again because they know they got a "live 1" at the end that blocked them.
If you can't help em, don't hinder em'

Contact Administration and ask them to be more vigilant in dealing with scammers. As an honest and trusting membership, many here are the perfect prey for these predators. My advice is to not do business with anyone without a picture, an address, a phone number, a phone call, a reference, if possible and a background check that verifies the information provided. You may want to ask them to join the MTFCA. It isn’t hard and it will add a certain legitimacy to the person in the Model T community. Jim Patrick

PS. I know many of you do not like eBay, but they have in place, many safeguards that protect sellers and buyers from suffering losses due to problems that sometimes occur in transactions from broke or lost items to buyers that fail to pay, or sellers that fail to ship your purchased item. They also have a tracing system the follows the item from the inception of the sale until it is delivered. I have never suffered a loss for anything I have ever purchased or sold on eBay.

While we are discussing scammers - this is why I pay with PayPal. Not only do they hold the funds for new accounts (scammers), but you can make a claim within 20days of purchase with PayPal to get a refund -
-Item Not Received. In this case, the buyer is claiming they ordered and paid for an item but didn’t receive it.
-Significantly Not As Described. In this type of claim, the buyer is stating the item they received is significantly different than they expected, based on the seller’s description. For instance, the buyer ordered a red sweater but received a blue one instead.
-Unauthorized Transaction. If a complaint is filed for this reason, it means the buyer’s account may have been compromised or hacked and someone made a purchase from the account without their permission.

The interesting part is if you make a claim and the party doesn't respond to PayPal within 30 days you automatically get the refund!

The past is a great place and I don't want to erase it or to regret it, but I don't want to be its prisoner either.

I wrote a heartfelt letter to Admin about this profile and my distrust of this organization now due to being scammed and the lack of policing on here; I received no response.

Really gives me confidence. The scammer profile is still on here but seems to be abandoned; coincidentally about the same time I posted these warnings...
