Scripted castle nut
Ever notice the script here? I've been working on painting my tt frame. I pulled the rear leaf springs to inspect and sandblast and found this nut on one of the bolts. Not sure it on the bolt going through the spring on on the u bolt. Could it have been part of final inspection or am I over thinking this?

Like many parts on the Ford, beginning in 1919 Ford strived to mark parts to distance from 'aftermarket' parts, that may not do the job. Even those simple parts like castle nuts got with the program!

Darn you Dan. Do you realise I now have two gallons of castle nuts to clean and inspect.

Re: Scripted castle nut
If you look at the spring perch nuts, they’re scripted too.
