A Brush with destiny ?

Post by Rich P. Bingham » Thu Oct 12, 2023 7:13 pm

Easily identified as a Brush, with its wooden axle and coil springs. I don't know enough about them to offer a date. I find this photo very interesting, the Brush appears well used and somewhat abused. It was taken c. 1925, and is obviously an object of interest, cars (and everything else) having changed so radically. I don't think a 2005 car would get much notice today, do you ?

The Frog flip phone was a technological high point.

I have a friend with a Brush. The wood construction is certainly interesting

I had the pleasure of riding in Red Ladner's Brush in the '80s for half a day (St. George, Utah). It was much slower than the other 1&2 cyl cars. We came across a high Wheeler that would not run after the trouble truck had gone by. Red towed it in with the Brush which had more than enough power to do so. We arrived a couple of hours later than the other cars.
Great car!

Egge Machine Company in Santa Fe Springs had a Brush in their front showroom several years ago. It was blue, and if I'm not mistaken, it had a Great American Race sticker on the hood.

It may still be there, but I'm not positive. It's been years since I've been in there.

Wasn't Destiny the one with the snakeskin boots? Or was that Ginger?
