Back to day by day for a little while. But that is good. Setbacks with this type of injury are very common, with some time required to fully heal. A quick positive response to the setback is a good sign.

We need to not all turn blue holding our breath! I know I have to keep telling that to myself.

Thank you Mark S for keeping us here informed.

Glad to hear he is doing better!
Just a 20 year old who listens to 40 year old music, works on 75 year old airplanes and drives 100 year old cars.
The past is only simple because hindsight is 20/20.

Mack Cole, One of the "brain bleeds" took a turn for the worse. Steve slipped downhill fast (a common such result), and he was sent to a close by hospital. They dealt with the problem and he is back to doing better again.

I’m with Mack. What happened?! Last time I checked he was well on his way to recovery, but now? It doesn’t look good? Could he have suffered a stroke? Has anyone asked? Like everyone here, I’m praying for him. Jim Patrick

Molly spoke with the nurse tonite. CT scans are looking good, but he is on a Propofol drip (sedation) as he is not coping well with the intubation and equipment. They will slow down that medication in hopes that he will be less agitated. So it looks like he might bounce back from this setback. Fingers crossed.

We keep the prayers going. I just say a quick one at some point of a day every day. Doesn't have to be extravagant..just a prayer.

Steve is still recovering from brain surgery. He is breathing well on his own, but remains uncommunicative. Nurse thinks he is improving.

This is a report from one of his relatives as of this afternoon, 10/24.

I am praying for good results for Steve. I am confident he will be OK. My father developed a subdural hematoma about 20 years ago and became paralyzed (temporarily) as a result while visiting relatives in Aberdeen, South Dakota. He was admitted to St. Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen, and as luck would have it, a renowned nuerosurgeon from the Mayo Clinic was rotating through and performed surgery on my father's brain. Dad recovered and lived fine many years after that. Steve is in one of the best hospitals in the country so that is reassuring.
