So how much do the spindles lower the chassis? Looks to me like about an inch?

From another discussion
A 09-25 T spindle. Measures 2.125" from bottom of kingpin shaft (not including bushing) to spindle centerline.
The 'improved car' (26-27) model T spindle; 2.75" from bottom of kingpin shaft (not including bushing) to spindle CL (spindle CL is 5/8" higher than the 09-25 spindle, producing a 'drop' of like amount.). So 5/8"
