Drawings with frame and body dimensions/measurements

Post by Marv K » Sat Dec 23, 2023 1:10 am

I remember that someone had posted a printed drawing of a Model T frame and with body measurements within the Forum. Have searched back to 2007 without success.
When a '24-25 T is acquired 'in a basket', re-assembly becomes tedious.
Hopefully someone has a handle on those drawings and will share? (Or tell me where to find them.) Thanks!
"Let's Figgur it owt!" Just fix it (right), and make it work.....
Aah-OO-Gah! (and), "Happy T-ing!"

Marv
Do a general internet search with the search info as “Model T Ford frame drawings and dimensions”. There will be a LOT of what you’re looking for come up. Maybe this may help you in what you need or at least some of it.

Marv,
Are you asking for drawings of the wood structure? I have a package of the plans for a '25 coupe that I acquired because I have most of a '25 coupe in pieces. I am planning to sell all of it together but I could have the plans copied if that's what you need.

If your asking where to start when you have a T frame and a pile of body parts the easiest way to begin figuring out where the body framework goes and where it’s attached the best way is this:

Assuming your T frame has been gone over for straightness and repair use two saw horses and lay the bare frame on them.
The mounting holes for the firewall brackets are pretty easy to find on the frame. Mount the firewall on the two brackets.
This will give you a starting point where the body will be mounted and the other body mounting points on the frame. It all starts with the firewall location.

I have a 24 T Coupe and this method worked fine for me.

If your using new body wood the two main frame rails can be positioned just right using the mounted firewall as a starting reference. This goes for most T bodies that I know of.
