I did not want to add a starter to the 15, as I like the idea of having a brass car with no starter. So, earlier this year, I bought a black car with a starter. The car is a 1918 runabout. Although the car did not originally have a starter, the previous owner, neatly installed a starter. The car also has a well made running board spare tire mount. On a recent warm day I was able to take the car to the gas station, and take a few photos in good daylight.

I bought a starter car.
My non starter 1915 has been parsnickery about starting in hot weather. Scott Conger suggested the problem may be due to the carburetor float set too high. Examination revealed that the float was in deed set to high. After making the correction, the car started right up. However it hasn't been hot enough to really test the car.

Good choice Wayne ! Beautiful ‘18 runabout. Although I intend on keeping my compression crank start ‘14 engines on both runabouts, I’m seriously considering demountable rims. Do you choose runabouts over other body styles, like I do ?

I tow my car with an open trailer. I had a cover made for the 15 while it is being towed. So, it was handy that the 18 is close enough to the 15 that I can use the same cover for towing.
However, I could use the extra leg room of a 1911 Torpedo.
