It is Fordson. It is a magneto drive so no need for a distributor, the upright piece you ask about is where the governor was mounted.

Check out the Fordson house.com. They sell new old stock parts and good used parts for Forson tractors. A few yews ago I sold a good magneto coil ring for a Fordson tractor I had for a really good price. They were glad to get it. I contacted them and sent them a picture of it. It was a long time ago, but if I recall correctly? These can be easily adapted to fit and work on a model T car. The biggest problem is that the magneto sits out somewhat beyond the outside of the frame rail. Not much of a problem for some speedsters, however a stock bodied car with stock hood has a real problem with the aesthetics.
The other main issue is that the bolt that holds the outrigger part of the drive is set to fit the physically larger Fordson tractor engine. The model T has nothing to bolt to or support the outrigger. Some sort of bracketing to the big bolt hole under the drive connection can be rigged up, however, it is important to support it from the engine and NOT the frame as chassis flexing when being driven will likely lead to serious problems quickly.
I have seen a few of these mag drives with holes drilled in the webbing below the shaft (where the Bosch info is cast in), apparently to bolt onto a model T engine. A long time ago, I actually had one of these with added holes to apparently fit the T engine. I sold it to a fellow that said he was going to use it on a model T.
