I'm almost ready to put the top material on my hack.
I'm ordering material from Witmer Coach.
What do I use for padding; Cotton duck? Cotton batting? Nothing?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Depot Back Top
Roger, I use dacron sheeting available in quilting and patchwork supply shops. It has a number of advantages over other stuff. The 1/4" thick stuff is enough to give just enough padding without making the top look like it has been stuffed.
It can be bought in lengths as required and usually there is no need for any joins. It will not fall apart as it is handled. It is resistant to any moisture which may find its way under the top covering, and it is relatively cheap.
I install a single layer of natural colour burlap/hessian first. The dacron goes over that, and thus cannot be seen. Then the top covering.
Hope this helps.
