Re: Wench?
I have a drawer full of these and have no idea of what is correct. But I would suggest that you correct the spelling of your thread. It's inviting off-color remarks, like this one.

Re: Wench?
There are many styles but most will have Ford somewhere on them, Ford appears to be in the center of the top jaw of the one you found. I haven’t seen one like that I don’t think. Nice find though. On the attached picture you’ll see the wench on top of the Ford.

Re: Wench?
Those wrenches are good for a display, but not very good for using on the car. They tend to slip and round off the nuts or bolt heads.

Re: Wench?
26-27 T and model A I believe, the square end is for the differential plug. Jim

Re: Wench?
Jim has it correct. The same tool with the square on the handle end, fits the 27 T differential plug, and the A model. Moore also made some of the earlier versions of this tool. The Ford script is found on many, and there were also other makers. Some had the T tool number cast in the handle or even on the fixed head of the handle. If your car is earlier than 1926, one without the square end is called for.

Re: Wench?
I was led to believe that wrench was upgraded and issued for the Model A Ford to adjust the service brake at each wheel.

Re: Wench?
I'm sure you meant wrench. Not all 26-27's used the new style filling plug.

Re: Wench?
I’ve heard several people refer to a winch as a “wench.”
They’ll ask if I have a wench.
I have to reply, “sadly, no.”

Re: Wench?

I don't plan on using, at least not the wrench (spelling correct this time) part, but the plug end may come in handy.
