Kingston Coil Works

Post by AndreFordT » Thu Dec 03, 2020 11:54 pm

Sometime ago I posted a few questions about the setting and the repair of a few (4) Kingston Coils.

In the attachement a few photos of the job on the coils.
Two of the four get other high tension coils. There for I took good coils out of regular FORD coil with bad wood.
All four coil get new points and new capacitors.
Current settings on my HCCT give the best result between 0.8Amp and 1.00Amp gap of the spark is 5/16". The start tension is 0.6Vac.
Setting lower the gap is only 1/8", setting higher the start tension is about 2.0Vac and there was no constant spark.

Take care.

I have some Hinze that I am thinking about swapping out the primary and secondaries for the 1914 up style, may also use the newer style points. Nice work.
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!
