1927 engine (Sold)

Post by Robert Bente » Mon Apr 22, 2024 9:06 am

Almost complete 1927 engine with a March 1927 serial number.
I purchased this years ago and believe the previous owner rebuilt it but never started it. The oil pan was clean and and it had all new gaskets. I did make a note that it was a .040 over re-ring. I do remember that I also lapped the valves, but do not remember if they were modern or 2 piece. It has an earlier transmission “narrow brake drum”.
The hogs head is correct for the year.
Missing components are a carburetor, coils and wiring. Otherwise complete.
Has good compression.

Asking $1200 and I can bring to the Formosa meet in a couple of weeks.

Can you post a photo of the other side of the engine? Curious about the odd-looking water pump.

His profile over on the right side shows Redding California.
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!

I pulled the head for more information.
Pistons are .030 over standard cast iron. Valves are 2 piece.
