Model T cutaway video

Post by 16rmf » Thu Sep 10, 2020 8:16 am

Hi everyone.
Please find a link to a winter project I undertook a couple of years ago which may be of interest to you. Approx 11 minutes long. Enjoy.
Regards, John.

Steve Jelf - You've posted a number of very good "introductory" items that I think are a "must read" for those folks that are new on the forum, and especially those that are just coming into the Model T hobby. I think that along with viewing some of your past posts, any newcomer should also be encouraged to view the working, cut-away Model T power plant! The old saying,....."a picture is worth a thousand words", and I think that 10 minute video of the working cut-away Model T engine/transmission speaks volumes! WELL DONE for sure!.......harold

Wow! That is a lot more work than just restoring a engine!

AdminJeff/MTFCA - Not sure who to, and exactly where to, present this suggestion, so for now, I will just post here:

I personally think that Irish club member John O'Neill has done such a wonderful job on this color-coded cut-away Model T power plant, that I can't help thinking that someone from MTFCA might consider contacting him and with his permission, co-ordinating some sort of effort to make his video, or perhaps a second professional video with "teaching-purpose" narration of his cut-away power plant to make his work more available to the Model T "community" as a whole. I'm thinking first of all, what an excellent display a ("PUSH THE BUTTON TO SEE THE VIDEO") type of display at the Model T Museum would be (without a lot of expense) but also, with appropriate "teaching" type video, for not only visitors to the museum, but for all forum users as well.

Just a thought Jeff, but even tho' there are several excellent Model T Engine cut-away engine stationary displays in existence, Mr. O'Neill's color-coded cut=away is not only the entire engine/transmission power plant, but folks can watch it (or a video) of the entire engine/transmission power plant actually running! Sorta' like,...it's all there but the stink of the exhaust! Just my thoughts for your consideration Jeff, and thinking that perhaps you'd feel this idea worthy of your somehow presenting the idea to the MTFCA "powers-that-be".......harold
