Door bumpers...

What are you using to hold these darned things in the door frame "D" slot? Some fit well holding in place and others not so much.

The picture of the old (top) and new (bottom) are the same dimension. Was thinking a spray adhesive I use on rope gaskets might work, any input would be great.

I've always used Locktite PL-S30 Roof Flashing Sealant. It's black, cleans up with Mineral Spirits and sticks to anything. Be sure to let it cure fully before using the doors.

If you use some type of sealant make sure the surfaces are clean. If you apply the sealant or glue over the painted surface of the slot the paint might let go and the bumper won’t stay in. The surface needs to be the metal only. My 24 Coupe’s bumpers are still in it and seem to be wedged in tight. When I repainted the car I painted over them and didn’t take the bumper and slot out. So I don’t know if Ford just wedged them in or some type of glue was used. Don’t think they were glued in though.

Thanks for the input fella's, will be on my weekend "T" to-do list. I like the idea of the PL-S30 and will post my results.
