With the theft of the trailer containing two (2) Model T's recently at the Texas T Party I was thinking it is time to get a GPS Tracker for my trailer. If you have experience with these units I would be interested hearing about your unit, how it works and a source to find one. I am not looking for a product endorsement but information so I get value for my dollars.
Thanks in advance,
Dom

Re: Source for GPS Tracker for Model T Trailer
Might want to consider roof numbers. and or a brightly colored roof to make Your trailer identifiable from the air and stand out from the others. Put markings or logos on the side of the trailer with Your contact info. A trailer was stolen from our church grounds and it was recovered because it still had the name of the company that had previously owned it on the trailer washed out barely readable. They left the trailer in a subdivision and a neighbor called the company who had the name of the person they sold the trailer to years ago. Most privately owned trailers are solid white, black or silver making it easy for thieves to blend in with traffic unnoticed.
Thieves prefer a plain trailer.

We have one of these in our trailer- not super fancy, not real expensive and it will notify you if the trailer starts movng. And its tiny and easily hidden.

Jim,
Great idea to add roof numbers. I have purchased one this morning.
Dan,
Thanks for the weblink. I will contact them.
I received a private email from one our members with this link to another vendor www.gpsandtrack.com . I am sharing this for others who may be looking into this issue.
I appreciate the help. This is cheap insurance to avoid/minimize a major headache,
Dom

Just wondering ... If a fellow goes to all the trouble to add a toung lock, GPS tracker and special graphics as well as a number to the roof of their trailer would the insurance co give you a discount on theft insurance since you are doing everything possible to help avoid it?

Surely you jest! These are insurance companies you're talking about...insuring THEIR security, NOT yours!perry kete wrote: ↑Tue Oct 05, 2021 3:16 pmJust wondering ...
