Ready for Viewing - Southern Peach Ts & Russ Furstnow

Post by Darin Hull » Wed Nov 03, 2021 8:47 pm

The Southern Peach Ts, Georgia’s MTFCA chapter, would like to invite you to an online educational segment we are hosting with a special guest, Russ Furstnow. The forum will be via Zoom meeting on Sunday, 11/7/2021, at 1pm EST and will focus on Model T speedometers. There will also be a Q&A period with Russ after his presentation.

The following is the link to use to participate via smart phone or computer:

https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86170557835?p ... RBYjBiQT09

There is also an ability to use your phone to dial in; however, you would miss the opportunity to see the presentation Russ has prepared.

We welcome you as our guests as we learn from the expertise of Russ!

Further details are available on the Southern Peach T’s website http://www.southernpeachts.com

Thank you for your time,
Darin

It's always good to see a local Model T club with a website, or even just email. Too many, especially MTFCI chapters, are firmly stuck in a previous century with nothing but snail mail.

You’re absolutely right Steve - and although the Southern Peach Ts is a relatively new MTFCA Chapter - they are certainly on the ball- their website is great and they’re already setting up T training topics.
Hoping folks takes advantage of the speedometer presentation.

I already have a commitment that day. Any chance it will be recorded and can be watched at another time?

Thank you Southern Peach T's for doing this educational Zoom Video. Rus Furstnow is the Guru on Model T Speedometers. I would encourage all who can to participate. :( My son is getting Married this Sunday at 2pm and I will not be able to Zoom with you. I have a 14 T Touring with just married on the back to take to the wedding.

David and George,

I’ve talked to our Secretary, Lee Butts, who sets up and hosts the zoom meetings. We do plan on recording the event and posting a link on our website.

I’ll share the link if we successfully make the magic happen,
Darin

The meeting needs to be set up with an invite only . It should not be available to anyone on or off FB.

The meeting was sabotaged and I think is starting over with a password. I thought it was peach, but that doesn't work. Anybody know what it is?

He said that peach was the password, but the saboteurs HEARD him, because none were muted fast enough. Most Zoom meetings I have attended were invites only with a link sent to your email and you were then allowed in.

Maybe they could do a small closed meeting and record it....then post the replay for the rest of us to learn from. That way it could not be hacked.

Well that was an experience and got spicy quick. The Southern Peach T’s have had several online meetings before but have never had trolls/hackers interrupt a meeting. We apologize for the negative experience and difficulties. Our first attempt at bringing value to the national club, and it’s members, resulted a less than desirable first impression. I take full responsibility.

Major learning curve for the first educational session and we’ve already figured out solutions to, hopefully, prevent issues like this in the future.

The good news is Russ is unflappable. We reset, he is teaching now uninterrupted, and he’s doing a great job! Lee will piece together the entire education session and we will post it for viewing, in the near future. I’ll let you all know when it’s available.

Thank you for your time,
Darin

That page will have a link to the presentation currently stored on YouTube. It is approximately 1.75 hrs so it is a lot of information. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you,
