Pinion Gears

Post by oliverguy » Sat Jan 08, 2022 9:03 pm

I'm trying to find a 13 tooth pinion gear for a Ruckstell rebuild. All the vendors seem to be running out of pinion gears. Does anybody know the story about what's going on with this? I was ok when the shortages were just about TP, but not this!

Bryan, I took the 13 tooth pinion out of the Ruckstell on my speedster. As light as it was, and with a few upgrades to standard power, it remained seriously compromised in the braking department. It was far more safely drivable with the standard ratio. I had the 13/39 tooth gearset. I am not familiar with how a 13 tooth pinion can be mated to a standard 40 tooth crownwheel.

I have 2, one is a good used one for the Ruckstell 40 tooth crown wheel and the other has been run, still like new, removed, the set was T-2518/24-HS 13x39
Postage from Australia isn't cheap
