mirrors.

In a previous thread someone wanted to see photos of the mirrors I find for my T's. I find them where and when I can. Most are "Wibroc" brand from the 1950's -60's. These are chrome plated over brass bodies. When the chrome is stripped off and the brass is polished, the flower petal design one looks right at home on a brass car.

The hinge mounted one is fitted to a modern reproduction bracket in place of the stainless steel item with the Phillips head screws.

The long arm one is on a bracket I had to make to mimic the one on the right side of my wooden shooting brake. It has been re plated in nickel.

The un-restored commercial style one is on my barn find backboard, Henrietta. It is mounted on the underside of the filler board inside the front hood bow. The cast brass bracket allows for adjustment up/down, and the brass spigot on the head allow adjustment in/out. I have a restored pair of these on my 1924 tourer.

My wide body Duncan and Fraser roadster has the same mounting with nickel plated flower petal heads.

The assortment of heads shows some of the variety available. The mounting bracket lower left is for a commercial style mirror. The head immediately is the modern stainless steel one I replaced. The rest are all Wibroc variants, chrome over brass, with some differences in the way they are attached to the stem.

You may be able to find USA made items if you hunt high and low.

By far my favourite ones are the flower petal design ones. They look old!

Don't you just love it! That's the mirror on Henrietta. It posted at 2.2mb Two of the others were 2.1mb and didn't post. A fourth was 3.0mb. I will persevere

Hi Allan,
I have had to open photos in "Paint" (now an almost extinct program) and save them as JPEG again to get the format to post. Files saved in Microsoft "Photos" frequently give issues.
So much for common file formats.....

Adrian, any post I make with photos is directly from my android phone. What I don't get is one photo posted, two others which were of lesser Mb did not. I got the dreaded yellow triangle on them and on a third which was slightly larger. Yet two more went next time I tried, and the third, trimmed down in size but still bigger than the first, went on the third post. It just seem ht and miss.

There seems to be some file format change in the last while that appears to be 'hit and miss'.
I am still what is now called "old school" - using a PC....
How time change :-)
