Front Seat Back to Riser Assembly 1917-22

I am trying to figure how the front seat back attaches to the front seat riser on a 1917 thru 1922 Touring. There are nine holes that go thru bottom of the kick panel then through the bottom of the seat back. They then would hold the bottom tack strip. Could someone post a photo (or email me with one) that shows an original interior shot of the seat back to riser panel prior to the installation of the seat back cushion. I think they are the same for 1917 through 1922 maybe even through 1925. Any help here would be appreciated. Also like to know what bolts or screws were originally used here. Thanks in advance for any help.

17-22 T open cars were built by 5 different body makers. That can make trying to get it right a bit confusing. They are generally the same but not quite. I have a 21 Touring that I restored but didn’t take any pictures when I was putting it together and wish I would have. I did find a few other cars that showed what I needed to do when putting my car together. I did a general search on the net instead of going through the forum and found what I needed to know that way and it was faster. Hope this helps.

Daniel,... I don’t even know how to use the alleged search feature on the Forum but I always go to google to find my Model T info. In your case I googled “mtfca touring seat wood” and this is one of many pictures that appeared..

Your right about that George. That’s how I find T information and it’s faster. The picture you posted is one of many and on the post I made reference to in my reply. And there are many more besides the one on the older post.

On a 17-22 the front should look like this (that picture looks more like a 15 or 16) the front seat didn't have one of those risers, but the back seat does. The seat back tack rail supports the seat back tin and anchors it to the body wood frame, through the armrests....the springs are tied to the top two seat back tack rail cleats. Now what my car did have on the inside of the seat back tin was a piece of roofing felt to keep the tinniness down...I replaced it with Jute felt.

My touring is an early 1922, with a 2 man top.

Marty, that is a nice looking Touring you have there and I also like the name of your beautiful state, "Commiefornia". I used to live there back in the 70's when it was still fairly sane, I could not imagine what it is like now. Anyway, what I am needing to know is how that front seat back attaches at the bottom to the front seat riser and kick panel. Here are some photos of my 21. I also seem to have quite a gap between the side seat rail and the rear kick panel. Isn't it supposed to be flush here?
