Ocean to Ocean 2024

Post by dykker5502 » Mon Jun 13, 2022 4:33 am

I just found an old thread on the old forums about a possible 2024 O-2-O trip - 115 years anniversary.
As I MAY be considering such trip in 2024, I might as well join such trip - so....
Any reality in such an endavour?

We are interested, my wife has been shopping for spare parts like Tires, since I told her about this this morning!
She's even offering to use her Suburban for the support/tow vehicle.
Everything works in theory.

The info was that this tour is to run from Los Angeles to Maine, not New York to Seattle. Since I live too far away from LA, I never kept the information that I found, or where I found it. Hopefully someone from CA will remember the post.

I would much rather run the Yellowstone Trail from Plymouth Rock to Puget Sound.

You can start in Maine and California and meet in Arkansas City for the Thursday night band concert in Wilson park, then walk across the street to Braum's for a double dip cone.

If you start in Maine you have to go an extra 200 miles. Those California people will get there first and eat all the ice cream.

Chickasha would certainly be possible, but the prewar meet is in mid-March when parts of the likely routes used for most of these cross-country jaunts would still present a wintry aspect. I like to travel in warmer weather.

Well if you meet in the middle it would not be an ocean to ocean trip now would it!
I guess you could call it "Ocean to aw that's far enough tour."
