I had a scare this weekend!

After finishing the work on my trailer I decided to check the T over, change the oil, grease all the fittings, check the air in the tires, etc. before starting it.

When I looked in the radiator I couldn't see any liquid so I got a jug of 50-50 and added a few pints. Then some more --and more until I had added a full gallon. This put me in a bit of a panic!!
What happened? It was not in the OIL. Where did it go?

When I went to mix another gallon of 50-50 I found two jugs with "Used from the Model T 2018" written on the outside.

Next time I drain the T in the winter, I'm going to leave a note on the seat so I don't forget.

It isn't easy getting old!!

A few times a year I come out from shopping and go to where I remember
parking my truck & trailer - only to find they have disappeared.

Awhile back this really would alarm me and send me into a panic.

Now I just take it in stride ....

At the super market today: Smallish order & I did my own bagging. Didn't notice the checkout girl bagged the last 3 items. Paid & left with that bag sitting by the register. A trip back after I got home.

I'm at that age where I find myself constantly wondering about the "hereafter". I walk out to my shop, thinking about various projects and come to a dead stop at the door, saying "What the **** did I come out hereafter?"

My daily driver is a bright yellow 2016 Jeep Renegade. The color stands out really well in a parking lot. Saves me a lot of wandering and looking... Also, unlike some of my contemporaries I don't have to set off my car alarm to find it.

I have four Model T's and a Model A. I really can't tell you why! I guess it just happens! A couple of the Model T's run on original coils, and a couple of them have distributors, the reason for which is simply that that that's the way they were built when I bought "em! I've had this "fleet" for quite a few years now, and to this day,.... with a couple to the T's, I often turn the ignition key to the wrong position, and wonder why it won't start, until I finally figure it out!

John Mosher - Recently, I read about an interview someone had with a lady who related that her husband is a very experienced airline pilot who has the responsibility of flying several hundred passengers back and forth from the U.S. to Hong Kong several times a month. She said that quite often, she has to help him find his car keys in the morning before he drives to the airport!

That tends to make me feel a bit better in regard to MY forgetfulness, except when I fly anywhere!!!

How about almost getting into the wrong truck in the parking lot? It happened to me once and the person inside got quit a jolt when I opened his door. I check close now before opening the door especially in a crowded parking lot.

If you drained it in the fall, it was a long time since you did so. I think it is just a normal thing, not dementia.

Concerning adding coolant to the radiator, if your radiator is like mine, there is a baffle about half way up the top tank. I have poured a little coolant in and saw that it was wet so I stopped pouring. The car overheated! Now I always look down carefully and bounce the car a bit to see if the coolant will move around. My problem was that the baffle was wet and it looked like coolant in the dimly lit garage.

According to a noted psychologist, losing your car keys is perfectly normal........everyone does it. The problems begin when you're holding the keys in your hand and can't remember what they're for.............

Such goofs are normal at all ages when you're in a hurry, distracted or thinking about that new red headed waitress at the coffee shop. Back in high school, several of my "car guru" friends came over on a Saturday to help me change the oil in my '62 Plymouth. We dutifully drained the old oil, changed the filter and poured nice, fresh Penns Oil back in.........until someone noted the large, spreading pool coming from under the car. It helps to re insert the oil drain plug....

About 20 years ago I was at a stop on a poker run...
Standing around bsing and reached down and rubbed my buddy's girlfriend's behind mistakenly !!
Fortunately nobody was offended and we (including my gf) laughed...oops.
So, I guess age is not always a factor with "brain farts"

My regular driver is a grey Prius C. Here in Southern Cal it must the the most common model in any parking lot. Yes, so I can never find mine.
Maybe I should add a couple of blue and white racing stripes on the hood and roof

Remember when you used to put a little orange plastic ball at the tip of your car antenna so you could find it in a crowded parking lot?

Nowadays, the cars don't even have antennas to do that with.

When I take my WWII jeep to the shopping center, when I get out, I just look for the crowd. Every drive is a parade and every stop is a car show.
