Street scene Albuquerque NM

Post by Tbird » Mon Oct 31, 2022 1:45 pm

I grew up in the Duke City, just came across this old photo of a horse drawn wagon "Bryant Co." some Model T's old motorcycles and a couple bicycles as well in Albuquerque NM. Whatever this delivery/company was he sure had it covered with every aspect of transportation. NM didn't gain statehood until 1912.

The building is from 1894

Here is the building today.

It's nice to see those old buildings still standing. We lose too many each year. Though they were well built it is difficult to keep them safe and in shape.
Great cars, cycles and folks.

There is much to like about the photo. The old store fronts and arches for the doorways and windows are marvelous. The Bryant house/wagon inventive and of course we love early model Ts. The Selz shoes sign stands out in black and white but was amazing in color. I had never heard of Selz before.

Hello Mike, thank you for posting the historical photo of Albuquerque with the brass-era Model Ts. The photo will be of great interest to my fellow members of the Tin Lizzies of Albuquerque!

Mark,
The building is still located on Gold Ave SW, in fact from information that I have gathered that building is one of the oldest buildings in Albuquerque besides Old Towne.

I am not sure if those cars survived, but I am sure that the horse is a live!
