Ecklers Macs

Post by Sparknwire » Thu Dec 15, 2022 8:17 am

Ecklers has been inquired by Turn5 out of Pa. Most of the suppliers are rejecting working with them because of the new policies and payment terms. Looking at some of their policies it looks like it’s going to be a drop ship company Amazon Style

Don't need 'em anyway. We got much better folks in Langs, Snyders, Chaffins and too many to remember.

Something did happen with Macs. I use to get their catalogs all the time but hadn’t in over a year. They were trying to go more for the classic era cars but hadn’t got those catalogs either.

Problem dealing with us "geezers". I do as little business on line as possible. When I do try it seems I either cancel my order or order twice! Every site seems to have a different way of ordering and I would rather call on the phone to place my order even if I use the on line catalog.

Since Amazon has been pretty much successful and if Ecklers new owners try to do the same they could be OK. Maybe. But we’ll see.
It seems they are going for the newer ‘old cars’ such as the classic car era because that’s where the popularity and money is. The Model T market is probably going to be a small market for them as far as making money.
And it will also depend if the Model T parts suppliers will want to deal with them.

Whatever they do has no effect on me. I crossed Mac's off my list thirty years ago.

When I was selling parts, I also crossed them off the list, because they weren't paying their bills.

I am in Ohio on business, dropped by Snyders a few minutes ago with a lengthy wish list for my 1914 express truck project.

* Very friendly, knowledgeable and fast service!
* Everything on my list was in stock!
* Everything carefully boxed, loaded and I'm pulling out!

Another excellent experience and I can't say enough good things about Snyders and Langs, both provide stellar support to our hobby!

Kind Regards,

Rick Rice
