Our Touring will be 98 years old this month
Our car was built May, 27 1921. I'm thinking about having it a birthday party with cake and ice cream. I will invite some of it's friends. I've got the new Lang's catalog by my recliner trying to decide what to get it. I'm thinking new floor mats, hub caps, motometer, can't decide.
The party will be a surprise.
Heck, I'm almost to the point that I can plan my own surprise parties. And hide my own Easter eggs.
Know what I mean?
The party will be a surprise.

That’s a neat idea!
Is it a family T that’s been in the family for a while? I have a 24 Coupe that’s 95 years old now that I think about it. It’s been in our family since 1942. I wonder what kind of stories our old cars could tell. Hope yours has many more birthdays!

We bought our T about 3 years ago but we have 3 grandsons, ages 2, 9, and 10. All three are my son's boys. So I figure the T will be theirs when we're "done with it". They already love it.
I love being able to know the exact day when our cars were built. I plan to go to the local newspaper office and check the archives to see what was going on in my hometown the day ours was made.

Re: Our Touring will be 98 years old this month
The motor in our T was cast on July 28, 1919 and it became a motor on July 30, 1919.
I can't figure out which day to have its 100th birthday party so I am thinking of starting on July 28th and partying thru the 30th of this year.
On the other hand it might have taken a few days to put the motor in the chassis so I should party a bit longer … maybe thru August 4th.
My wife will be conducting a wake for me on August 8th.
I should be well preserved!

In May 2010, Darel Leipold had a 100th birthday party for his May 1910 touring.
My father and I were in attendance. It was held at his store in downtown Excelsior, MN.
Folks from various car clubs also dropped by with their antique cars and had a piece of birthday cake.
Second photo is my father (left) and Darel (right). They have known each other for over 70 years.
