Re-purposed Model T parts - camping equipment
Just finished up a campfire tripod for cooking with a Dutch oven. We have started vintage camping with the T and showing the rig at various "overlanding" events. Showing the T with our vintage camping setup has been very well received at the modern 'overlanding' events. Been needing a tripod for our Dutch oven for a while, so I made one out of 3 very bad rear radius rods and a wood wheel hub spoke clamp ring. The chain is old well bucket chain from that time period and the hook is a very old "blacksmith" made item I had in the " rusty treasure pile". It folds up nicely and is the same length as the rear bumper on the 27 touring. When wrapped in a piece of canvas tarp, it and our tent poles will ride very nicely tied to the rear bumper.

Depends on what's being cooked George!
I love my cast iron cookware...nothing like it once seasoned properly. Amazing stuff that cleans up with a wipe of a paper towel.

Totally agree Scott!! Only way I cook my steaks. Well seasoned lodge, seared 3 minutes a side, in the oven with butter. Yummy!

George, There are many ways to cook almost anything in a Dutch oven. Coals on top are for baking or browing things inside. The tripod makes it so much easier than just sitting it on the coals. There is definatly a learning curve, but almost everything is better in a Dutch oven or other cast iron cookware. The one I show in the photos is a hard to find 7 inch Dutch oven. It is just the perfect size for me and my wife and does not add more weight to an already heavily loaded T. If we have dinner guests I'll drag out the 10 inch oven, or for a crowd I'll get out the 12 inch oven. But those stay at home most of the time.

Oh....I had no idea they were that versatile. My experience was just frijoles and cathead biscuits. Bring the 10” to Chickasha. I’ll dig the hole and bring the charcoal.

George., not sure if they would be happy with us building a fire in the south building. But it does have a dirt floor
