I have done many of these with this press, been a while though. This one will not go “home “ at the bottom push. It wants to spring back and not lie flat. I have taken some off the angles and a tiny bit off the crush at the hub.
Has anyone ran into this before? There’s no paint or primer on the mating surfaces. I’ve spent all day on this one wheel. I’m open to suggestions.

I have had that happen a couple of times. I just "over press" a little and fit the flange to the wheel and pull up snug. In a couple days things seemed to settle in, but I had to remove the flange, straighten out the "dimples" I put in from drawing up so tight and start over.
I suspected that the radius on the end of the spokes was perhaps put in at maybe a 1 degree angle and they were the driver of the problem. I never checked but would not be surprised if a small machinist's square would show that to be exactly the case
I also seem to recall that they were among the fiercest tight wheels I had ever done, too (no they were not the wrong spokes)

I had actually set it up to do that and thought I had better ask for suggestions before I did it. I was afraid it may be too much side pressure on it.
