What have you done with your chapter in July?
On Thursday evening, the MTFC of St Louis along with the Model A Restorers Club had a display at the Missouri History Museum in Forest Park in conjunction with the showing of the movie "Show Me 66" About the history of route 66 through missouri.
This weekend we are having an overnight tour to St James. I am told about 125 miles of two lane, some gravel, and a river crossing where we'll get our wheels wet.

...the movie "Show Me 66" About the history of route 66 through missouri.
I believe Missouri is the only state where nearly all of old 66 still exists as state and county roads. I don't count Kansas, as the portion there was only about 12 miles. Long stretches still exist in California and Arizona, but in those states there are also places where the old road has been abandoned or replaced by the interstate.
The inevitable often happens.

I then said goodbye to the group and took a side trip south through Mark Twain National Forest. Miles and miles of gravel road and not another vehicle in sight.

We did this! See my companion post. Boatload of fun to one of the most popular Lake Erie islands today. Along with I think 3 other clubs we invited along. 38 cars of fun!

Finished painting the rear seat riser and installed the rear seat assembly. Wheels should be painted this week. Things are finally moving along.

The Redwood Empire Model T Club participated in two local parades over 4th of July weekend. It was hot but everything went well. I didn’t get a lot of pictures.

Yesterday myself, Jim Riedy and a club guest attended the annual CMP First Shot ceremony at Camp Perry near Port Clinton Ohio. 116 years of rifle competition. Pretty impressive. Great ceremony with a B25 fly-over from Liberty Air Museum. First Shot was by one of the most talented and skilled marksmen in the states, SFC Brandon Green. He's retiring this summer. Afterward we gave rides to spectators wishing to do so.

I found a glove box for my TT . Problem is there is no place for cell phones, wallet,keys ect...
I picked up this tractor tool box at the steam and gas show last year. It was marked $10. I carried it over and he said he would not take less than $10 before I had a chance to speak. No rust and really straight ,I was happy. Only when I got home did I realize it was on the same angle as my ammeter mount. " Better to be lucky than good." Finally installed it.

The Redwood Empire Model T club is having a cooker tour this Saturday. I usually go with sausage and sour kraut. Any mor imaginative ideas?
