Exhaust manifold help

I have Roof overhead and am trying to build an exhaust manifold. The problem is that the third exhaust port is tight to the plywood firewall. Any suggestions would be great.

I don’t know how particular you are about getting your build precise but you could cut out your wood firewall about 1” farther out at the curve to give you clearance. I have a feeling when building a T speedster “way back when” you had to customize here and there to get things to clear and fit.

You'd need to cut a "cove" out of the plywood near the manifold and put in a curved piece of sheet metal to close the gap. I'd want enough clearance to make installing the manifold easy and to leave at least an inch or so of air space between the manifold and anything behind it.

You can bend the exhaust and/or wrap it. I used the product COOL IT. I can drive for an hour , get out of the car and touch the wrap with getting burned, works that good. Its basically a fiberglass wrap. There are many similar brands

I don't know if this helps but this is what I did when I built the firewall for my Speedster with the Roof head. It has worked well.

Getting a tubing to bend that tight will be rather diffacult.

This was the solution I came up with, because you do not have a bolt parallel with the port you may be able to make and weld two bends to get
the clearance you need.
