Wheel vs rim questions

My wheels are out getting new spokes. In the meantime my friend has leant me 3 wooden wheels (fouth is bored for rear, not front so I’m short one front). He also had 2 older Hayes metal spoke and 2 newer Hayes spoke wheels to use with my rim and tire. Issue is when I try to match them up the spacing from the tire valve hole to the mounting bolt is different and won’t line up. Strange thing is it is also different between the newer and older wire wheel. My T is a 26 Roadster pickup. Is it common to have different spacing for mounts? Not sure how people know how to replace a rim without physically matching them up to see if they mount. Am I missing something? Using the search function I see there are different rim manufacturers with different cross section and mounting tabs, but have not found anything showing the difference in the rim mounting pattern vs hole for tire valve.

Non ford rims.
Chevy valve stem has the opposite offset. Thats the most common issue.

All 21" rims for Fords are interchangeable regardless of manufacturer.

Are we talking 21" rims? As posted Chev rims have the valve stem hole much closer to the adjacent lug. This lug is slotted to drop down over the stud as the tyre/rim assembly is fitted to the felloe
I am confused by your reference to Hayes wire wheels. Arwe they 21"? Are they assembled with spokes and nipples? If so, they take a special rim, and a Ford rim will not fit.

They are 21” rims. I am told they are Hayes wheels. Spokes with nubs. Allan explained they take a special rim. Thanks.

The 21" Hayes wheels with which I am familiar differ from the 23" wheels, in that the outside edge of the felloe is rolled to the outside rather than the usual inside. A Ford rim will bolt up to it, but if the bolts are over tightened the Ridge on the inside diameter of the rim can snap on over the rolled out edge of the felloe.
The only way it can be removed is by cutting the tyre off the rim.

Thanks for the clarification. What is the round metal part that the wooden spokes go into that the wheel mounts to called? The part where the 4 mounting bolts go through?

The part the spokes go into is the felloe. Demountable rims bolt to a steel felloe. On early non demountable wheels the spokes go into a wood felloe that is riveted to the rim.

Sounds like you are talking about the hub.

The four mounting bolts for the rim go through the felloe.

From the center out, the parts are: Hub, spokes, felloe, rim, tire.
