Interesting item 256571001687 on Tbay Hot Link provided

Post by JTT3 » Fri Jul 19, 2024 9:22 am

I saw this on eBay and I guess this may be for magneto lights but I’m not sure. I have no connection to the item or seller but thought for the folks that are running mag lights it may be of interest. My 15 had mag lights and keeping bulbs from burning out was a task. I thought I’d share. In addition if you have one or have information on it please share with us. Erik thank you for the links, I enjoyed going through both. I’m going to save these links for future reading. The info attached is from the documents Erik supplied.

The link worked for me.
I own a 1936 Packard convertible sedan, a 1916 Model T coupelet, and a 2007 Mercedes Benz SL550 roadster.

Click on the following links. The device supposedly keeps the magneot powered bulbs at a constant brightness regardless of the motor RPM.

Wonder why the link didn't work for me and it did for everybody else. I wonder if that has anything to do with the passage of time. :D

Steve, that was funny. It happens to us all. The significance of the passage of time, right, the significance of the passage of time. So, when you think about it, there is great significance to the passage of time in terms of the passage of time.
Especially when the passage of time is so fast it becomes the future & just as suddenly time has passed & that is significant.
In other news this item if it works would be interesting if it could be duplicated. For those of us that had or have a magneto bulb T it’s frustrating to try and use them especially when they blow out after only a little use.

Best John

After what I heard and read, I expected MAG bulbs to go bad early and often. I'm happy to report that I've had them last a year or more. But carry spares. Auto Zone won't have them.

It is most likely an inductor.
Ford put inductors on non-starter cars.
It was mounted on the firewall on 15-19 cars
and on the ignition switch in lieu of an ammeter on later cars without starters.

There are various bulbs that will fit. But they should be tested in pairs. I found that if one is way brighter than the other it won't last long. In fact, the difference may be so great that the brighter one doesn't survive the test. If bulbs are a good match, they may last a year or more.
