There was a fella here a while back that was threatening to reproduce this bracket that mounts to the windshield bracket. Not sure where the project went, but would selfishly like to see these available

The past is a great place and I don't want to erase it or to regret it, but I don't want to be its prisoner either.

I have the cowl piece - you'd have to fashion the open hoop for the running board.

I hope I'm not steeping on Steve's toes, I also have a cast iron bracket that uses the cowl light bolt to mount to the cowl. It will need a bottom mount to carry the tire on the running board. This item is posted here in the adds.

If no luck let me know as I know I have one in the barn. It's the long version like the first picture with an extra casted loop to add a padlock.

Re: Wanted Running board mounted spare holder.
You don't mention the year of car you have; this is a spare mount that attaches to the windshield stanchion bolts on a 24-5. It has the remnants of a decal on the top and a part number on the underside. Not trying to sell it, just wanted to share a later style of spare mount for your search.

Hey Richard, if the upper part in your barn is still available and no one has spoken for it, I’d be interested: I have the bottom carrier but nothing to secure the top. I sent you a PM
