Full Flow Float Valve - by Scott Conger
Today I installed a Full Flow Float Valve in my 1927 Coupe and 1911 Touring, which both have Holly NH carburetors. I had heard many good things about the float valve that Scott produces, but had no idea how great the valve worked until I drove both of my cars after installing the valves. The valve transformed my 1927 coupe into a very smooth running and powerful Ford. The same result was recognized in my 1911 Touring. Driving to my home, you have to drive up an 9% grade for about 1/2 mile, and normally most Model T's have to go into Ruckstell or low pedal to complete the hill. With the new valve installed, both my 1927 and 1911 Fords drove up the hill in high gear without a problem!!!
I called Scott and told him how impressed I was with his Full Flow Float Valve, and then promptly ordered two more, one for my son and another for me. All I can say, is that if you are not running a Scott Conger valve in your NH carburetor, you need to call Scott and realize how smooth and powerful your Model T can be!! THANKS, Scott!!!

I forgot one additional thing....I don't need a carburetor shut off valve any longer, because with the new valve, the carburetor does not leak!!

It is incredible how much difference the valve makes. If I were in the business of rebuilding NH carburetors I wouldn't let one out the door without a Scott Conger Full-flow valve.

I've had issues with the valve sticking in the seat. Could it be the California gasoline?

Larry, Scott told me that the tab on the float that meets the needle must be adjusted as he describes in his instructions. I would check the tab on your float. I hope this helps, Russ Furstnow

Larry, perhaps your car's auto immune system is rejecting a non original part. I have no idea what you need to do to counteract that rejection.

Try polishing the sides of the bottom of the needle with a dremel and mag/chrome polish. I had a sticky needle that I fixed using this method. Yep, I agree. I put one on good ol' "Stanley", my '26 "overlap" Fordor as he's kind of "obese"...at 2240 lbs. he struggled to even make it up an overpass over a 4-lane highway. Not anymore. Still need low on steep hills, but there's others now that he will "just make it" thanks to this valve. I think the full-flow valve more correctly matches the valves originally available for the NH. It removes the restriction right at the inlet....simple but effective. I was skeptical at first but thought "what the heck, I'll give it a try." I did some before and after comparisons and the improvement was obvious. I cancelled my plans of adding an electric fuel pump to help when fuel levels (pressure) got low... didn't need it.

If I remember correctly the numbers that go with the picture Tim posted are .100 on the left and.125 on the right.
